Title: Marrow Recipe
Post by: Roy Bham UK on August 10, 2005, 00:34:11
:) Someone and I just can't remember who or on witch thread put up a recipe for Marrows, I've searched and searched and still can't find it.

Anyway the long and short of it is I printed it off cooked it on my own (man thing)and thought it tasted blooming marvelous, BUT! my mate popped in just as I was tucking in, so I shared it with him as he had never tasted Marrow B4 he liked it so much he asked for the recipe, I gave him the one I printed off and now can't find the thread for my copy :'( Boo hoo :'(

But most of all I would like to thank that lottie person who posted that recipe, its contents were Marrow, cheese, tomatoes, garlic, peppers, butter and onions. ;D

Thank you ;D

Is this the recipe?

Cheesy marrow:

1 marrow
about 3oz butter
finely chopped onion
squished clove garlic (or two, depending on taste)
1 chopped green pepper
8 oz skinned and chopped tomatoes
6 oz mature cheddar, grated, with a bit of mozzarella if you've got it

Peel marrow, slice, de-seed and cut into cubes
Fry in butter until golden
Move it to a plate, leaving as much juices in the pan as poss
Add onion, garlic and pepper to pan, fry until pale goldy colour,
Add marrow and tomatoes, mix well
Put half in an ovenproof dish, cover with cheese
Put other half of marrow mix on top, add rest of cheese
Bake in oven approx 200 C until brown on top, takes about 30 mins

I couldn't remember how to do the link so copied and pasted, I am sorry - must do better!!  If you type in - marrow, cheese, tomatoes, pepper into the 'search' it comes up with the thread, the other recipes looked good too.  I'm sorry I didn't do it correctly but hope you find it.  I must learn to do it properly!
