I've read a couple of threads about varieties of chilli's being grown this year, but nobody but me seems to be growing Purple Tiger. I was wondering if there's something I don't know about them :-\
Anyway, my plants are growing fantastically and the purple and white flowers are beautiful as are the tiny purple chilli's I have so far. Anyone have any idea how hot these chilli's will be at the purple and at the red stage?

this is all i could find:
Chilli Pepper Purple Tiger a very attractive hot pepper also ideal as an ornamental that produces hot purple fruits turning from purple to tri colour before maturing red. Foliage is tri coloured (green, purple and white) and the plant has an open bush habit. The plant size can be restricted by the pot size. Ideal as a dot plant in sheltered areas.
Hi!
You're probably not the only one, but these chillies are very similar (maybe the same - ah branding!) as Trifetti and Purple Variegated. I'd give them about a 6/10 heatwise (about the same as a mild Jalapeno), so they won't blow your head off! You can harvest them red or purple they are marginally hotter at red.
Hope that helps!

Thanks, this does help...I'm not a big chilli eater...yet :)

They sound loveley, where did you get the seeds?
They sound really attractive Maddy. Definitely fancy growing them next year. Mild Jalapeno type is about as strong as I can cope with ! ;) ;D
Actually I got the seeds off ebay, can't remember the name of the seller. I've got tonnes of tiny chillies now ;D Can't wait until one's big enough for me to try :)
