All of these marked ***moved with me this year. They were outdoors in pots, through all of the winter. Repotted in March, still outside on staging at the front where it is warmest near house. Into final pots in late April, early May. Fed on tomato food alternating with Chempak no 4.

The others are chuck outs from the local fuchsia nursery. A bit of tlc and they reward you.

;D Final cheesy grin.

Hi Supernan, the one above Marinka looks like one that I have which is called Camel Blue. I'm a bit disappointed with the colour of mine, the picture on the pack was a light sky blue skirt bit with the upper petals? being white. It is a beauty though, just not what I had expected.

Need to try and get a decent picture of mine for comparison. I hope to get a picture or two tomorrow when little 2spot is at granny and papas.

Supernan. They are so beautiful, I really do love them. I keep going back over the photos to look again.. I wish I knew more names of mine. Must remember to label properly any new ones., Having said that I so enjoy them all wether they have labels or not.. Thank you
Lorna.

My favourite flowers.  I have loads but think the some of my 'Marinka' have a virus or something because the leaves are covered in black spots.   >:(  :'(

Hi A4A gang. Thanks for looking and the positive comments.

I have about 250 fuchsia plants at the moment. I grow them and sell them to raise funds for Riding for the Disabled. Last year they raised £400. This year due to moving in February and lack of a greenhouse has ment I have not sold so many.

So the rescue ones (donated by my local fuchsia growers) are all in my border 200+ fuchsia plants. I am potting the tender ones up in September to overwinter in the greenhouse. Depending on the room in the greenhouse I may also pot up the outdoor ones. Then I will get earlier growth and can take even more cuttings.

Morning Supernan. Do Fuchsias take quite easily from cuttings? If so, when is the best time to do it and how?

Have had to take over the job of cuttings which my late husband always did. He would start the cutting programme in late July and although neither of  us were expert gardeners we have had lot of success. I took 40 cuttings beginning of this week. I always water from the bottom or put them on capillary matting.. I always have trouble with geranium cuttings.. I have now been told not to use rooting powder and keep them almost dry. I always get a lot of stem rot with geraniums. Lorna.

Right hopefully you will have success with your cuttings.

Take cuttings from soft material only, roots easier. Avoid cuttings with flower buds.

Take your cutting with at least 3 to four leaf joints., use a sharp knife to cut it off the plant.

Take to potting bench, cut just below last leaf joint.

Strip off last two pairs of leaves.

Prepare a compost with 75% compost 25% vermiculite. I use cell trays of 24 per normal size seed tray.

Put one cutting to each cell. Sinking them right down to the last set of leaves. Soak well with water.

Place in a warm semi-shaded place.

Spray regularly with water to keep evaporation down. This should be all the watering they will need unless it is very warm. When you should water from below to encourage roots to go down.

To see if they have rooted after about 2/3 weeks give a slight tug. If rooted pot on.

I take cuttings in January / Febuary from stock plants which have been kept in a heated greenhouse.

Take as many cuttings as you can, if a few don't make it no matter.

July is a good month for cuttings nearly everything roots well then.

Percivals Fuchsia Nursery are jolly good for mail order or worth a visit. They are real enthusiasts so don't expect it to be a super neat and tidy commercial operation. Find them at this web address. http://www.findthatfuchsia.info/suppliers.htm

What a lovely selection of fuchsias supernan.  The first 'don't know' one looks alot like one I had called 'Coachman'.  It is a basket variety, orangy in colour with lighter sepals.  Thanks for showing us, made my day ;D :)
