Title: Mysterious strawberry.....
Post by: Mubgrub on August 08, 2005, 15:22:11
Hi all, back from holiday. ;D

One of my strawberry plants (Cambridge fav, planted this last autumn) has started to mysteriously flower a second time! ???  It's already flowered and fruited and was starting to send out runners, just the one plant in a bed of twelve....  I'm confused, are they supposed to do that or is it just an exhibitionist?

I have Cambridge favourites too. Last year they flowered again from late summer and were still going in NOvember (although that fruit never rippened!)

I don't think they are supposed to do that. They are just confused about the seasons!

Hmmmm,  should I deflower it then so it can get on with making a bigger crown?  Its only a baby ,bless, and I don't want it to tire itself out ;D
