My youngest daughter, aged 5, asked her dad to make a sign for her bedroom, which he duly did, it reads "Maggie Rose's bedroom", lovely idea and perfectly ordinary. She then asked him to make her a sign for inside her bedroom, which reads "Maggie Rose is in her bedrom". I said "Lovely, hun, but what about when you're not in your bedroom?" The reply," well, mummy, I won't be in there to read it, will I?" ??? ??? ??? Left scratching my head with eyebrow raised........ Got a headache now......Lottie ;D
;D ;D ;D She's got a good point.
Really shouldn't read your posts whilst on the phone to someone at work!
Won't tell.....Promise :-X Lottie ;D
Sounds totally logical to me!
logical Derek is anything logical when it comes to lottie ;D ;D ;D
True Dibber, but it sounds like her daughter (Maggie) is the logical one in the family ! ! ! :D
could be rite derek they say there is one in every family ::) ::)
Yup, that was me in my case! Note I used the past tense . . . :D
Dad used to call me his "bag of weasels".......... :-\ No idea why could have been the blue hair phase, the goth phase, now in my "what the heck!" Phase....... Lottie ;D ;)
oh i had a blue hair phase, but it didn't suit me so i moved onto a 'red leopard skin crop' phase which looked much better.
Tara xx
Ha ha reminds me of my 'Hippy' phase, barefoot, long featheredged jeans, indian embroidered cheesecloth and shoulder length hair . . . Peace man 8)
I loved cheesecloth shirts. Everyone was thin in them days .... and had hair ;D
Loons?
Me or the others?? ??? Derek, Dave, Tara and Wardy, photos please????? I'd love to have seen that!! I think I'll be getting pay back with my youngest, she's already torn between maribou feather heels and roller skates...... ::) ::) ::) Lottie PS I thought cheesecloth was still in? Oh dear!
Sorry Lottie, as much as I would love to, I don't have ANY photos of my youth :'(
Awww Derek, that sad, will get Maggie to draw you some. ;DLottie ;D
Thank you lottie, remember - I had hair then . . . :D

Does that mean I can start playing Reggae! :P
Ice blue levi staypress........... and ben sherman shirts was my garb in my
youth am not old enough to have been a hippy ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I think lil maggie must have dads genes because she sounds sensible all
hope lost for lottie me thinks !!!!! ::) ::) ??? ??? ;D ;D ;D ;D :P
Hold that thought!!!! Took eldest to lottie today, I was hoeing away and she said "What you doing, mum?" " What does it look like?" I replied. "Your stroking the plants!" Not sure if this is comment about my hoeing technique or not!! Not one of them resembles me externally, Jaggy, so figure they must be lucky devils and inherited my inelligence..... :-\, and long toes? ??? Lottie ;D ;D ;D
I'm 35 and still think upon myself as being a bit of a hippy. I used to have very long hair (down to my waist) but had to cut it off to get a job. Still have most of the hippy principles.
How lovely Lottie, to have children that want to help or share on your allotment. Mine would just look horrified . . .
On the inherited characteristics, I couldn't possibly comment . . . :D
Cheek!!! Not so much helping, as moving catipillars to safety, which is another moan!! They had their warning to move catipillars from sprouts before I started squishing, and where did they move them too?? The cabbages :-\ :-\ :-\ Lottie ;D
Couldn't you just provide a big bucket, then suggest they make a caterpillar pie . . . :D
Guess who'd have to eat it...... :-\ Lottie ;D
Hmmm yes you have a very good point there ! :D
I'm still going through my hippy stage. (Although I was born in the mid-70s, so was a bit too young for it first time around.)
Although I don't like the term hippy due to it's opium connection. I much prefer to think of myself as an earth child or daughter of Gaia. (aqui gets off her pretentious horse!)
My hair pretty much reaches my waist!
Then I guess that makes me a hippy revisited, without the hair this time round ! ;D Mind you, the term 'sad old git' seems to be more appropriate now!
Decided it best to ban children from going anywhere near any plants ever again!!!! Got back from work to find OH in fits of laughter, Maggie had decided to water her plant in the sink. Placed plant in upstairs sink, turned on tap, and forgot about it. Apparently OH heard the water, pelted upstairs to find plant boiling, she'd turned on the hot tap....... ::) ::) ::) Lottie ;D

You've not got a plot full of poppies then? ;D
Clanger - I did try, but they don't seem to like my heavy clay! ;)
Whew Lottie, I think you got away lightly! I had visions of the basin drain blocking with soil, then overflowing . . . all over your lovely shiny new bathroom. Hope everything is ok now . . . :D
It's getting there, Derek......really, really slowly!!! Next bit is bath being re-done, apparently 3 days without bath then, should be interesting :-\. ;D Lottie
I'm sooo glad for you! Hmmm 3 days, I best stay upwind! I only have a few days before leaving now, so do please keep me informed ok? ;) I need stuff to chat about, so I can get my posts out, and get that God label. Hmm Dan should have my cheque now as well, so does that give me pics status as well?
Only 15 more to go til you're a god Derek!
(I think the stakes are far too low. I've been a god for ages, but still haven't managed to bring about world peace. Maybe you need to hit 10,000 before you can do that!)
Indeed Aqui, but like you say, it will not change the world order, or anything come to that. Still it is keeping me occupied, and getting myself known, instead of just lurking as I used to do. :D
Nothing wrong with a spot of lurking occasionally....I have been known to lurk now and then :o Lottie
Yes but I was a Master Lurker, didnt really contribute anything . . .
And do you have a certificate to verify this claim...... ;) Lottie ;D
A fully indentured apprenticeship yes, duly signed by the Lord Mayor and his dog . . . It is tucked away somewhere so secure now, it will never be found . . . :D
Mmmmm....that's a stroke of bad luck there D? ::) ::) ::) However, you could be OK, I've caried out a few enquiries...and guess what! Lurker certificate duplicates are now available.... ;D ;D ;D Lottie
Matters not, tis only a piece of paper, the skill is to practice the trade . . . :D
Children are so lovely and natural
Vony.
They are that, Vony!!! Also mad....... ;)and now under strict instructions to approach all plants with visor down, accompanied by respnsible adult (have to see if mum's free...) and full chemical suits on!! ;D Lottie ;D
