Once again, lovely photos simon! Inspired by all the lovely flowers you grow on your allotments, I ordered the lucky dip seed selection from dobies for a fiver. They arrived today, and along with a selection of herbs, peas and beans, there was a lovely selection of annual and perrenial flowers, and I plan to grow them all on the plot next year!
This is commercial growing, simon?? A beautiful site/sight!
Did a bit here for a while.
Thank you Simon. Lovely photos they brighten up my day. lLorna
lovely pics Simon i just love all the flowers you grow nothing like a vase of fresh flowers you have grown your self , wish i lived closer you would have a new friend ;D ;D ;D
Very inspiring :D I've grown flowers this year for cutting, want to grow a lot more next year. Your plot looks fab Simon. :)
Thanks everyone :) :) :) I'm so glad if I've been able to inspire you, I got inspired myself by Sarah Raven on gardeners world, the year before last I think it was.
It's not commercial tim! (or were you kidding?!), I did try hawking some buckets round the local florists last year but they wern't interested; I did manage to sell some through the WI market but it took up to much time!
Dibber what can I say?!! ;D
Lovely, Simon :) I think lotties are just great places to grow flowers as well as veggies.. They go so well together :)
You're so right Wardy, they add a whole new dimension! :)
My lotty neighbour grows lavender and uses it up both sides of her path and between rows of veggies. She grows them from seed :) I got loads of perennials growing on my plot in amongst all the long grass when I took it on and I've grubbed some of them up and potted them up, eg big white blousy daisies, gaillardia and Sweet Williams. They're looking lovely in a galvo bin by my shed :) I notice that many of the older plotties grow lovely dahlias and I'm going to have a start with L'Ancress :) My old dad used to grow polyanthus and gladdies. the plot just looks far better with flowers on it :)
Simon don't say anything just a bunch of flowers will do fine ;D ;D ;D
