Lovely! Thanks for sharing, Lorna!
Looks great Lorna, lovely colours.
Hi Lorna! Lovely pictures - and a lovely garden. As for your mystery clem - is it a group 3 like Victoria? It's very difficult to guess at a distance I'm afraid. Could you manage to take a closer picture of the flower? Px
Hi Plocket..Thanks for your comments. Yes , sorry about rotten pic of unnamed clem..Unusual for me to only take one pic, I am rubbish at this photo lark and always take more than one of subhect. Will get another pic. Plocket I honestly don't know anything about it. It was planted some years ago and I thought I had lost it. Now I am more in to gardening I try to keep notes.. Lorna.
I'll wait for a new picture then Lorna. Do bear in mind though that there are thousands of different clematis - if you really want to know it might be best to send a flower and leaves to the British Clematis Society for id. They are much more likely to be able to help you. Their website is www.britishclematis.org.uk. Px
stunning lorna what beautiful pics keep them coming
Lovely flowers, I particularly like the lillies, very pretty :D
Thanks for the photos of your garden Lorna. I like the unidentified clematis - very pretty :)
I noted with dismay today that a new clematis I have just got come into flower is exactly the same as my one and only other one. How did that happen? ;D I'm an eejit that's how ;D
Wardy sorry I have just cracked up to think another gardener can do the same sort of thing as me!! Ie I planted that Victoria only to find what I thought was a goner spring up beside it. When I bought that "lot" of clems at the auction I had one which had no label. I gave it to one of my daughters. She came yesterday and said she has only got one flower on it it is beautiful and people have been remarking . I will be spitting fire if it turns out to be an unusual one. :o ::)Lorna.
Oh well never mind Lorna ;D My two clems are very pretty so what the heck. They are just labelled as Viticella purple and I have planted one with my Penny Lane rose (which is drop dead gorgeous) which is a soft peachy cream colour so looks lovely with the deep purple single, small headed nodding flowers of the clem. Don't know why I didn't just take a pic. I will :)
Lovely photos Lorna. Difficult to name the clem as there are so many different purple varieties. Very pretty lilies - do you happen to know which variety?
Pat
Gardengirl. The lillies are ones which my daughter brought to me (she is not allowed to put her own plants in her rented house garden) She told me thay were day lillies. Thats about all I know. I did read on forum recently that day lillies only last a day so I think she is right. Pity they don't last longer. Lorna.
smashing pics L ;D
quite fancy your clem PD~i'm looking for a reddish clem :)
