Its very green and healthy and has lots of fruit and flowers on it but the fruit is green and has been for some time they are of a good size but does anyone know other than warmth, food and water if there is anything i can do to help them ripen?
all suggestions welcome

if i remember correctly, citrus fruit takes a long time to ripen - often, they will have ripe fruits on them just when the next seasons flowers start. i would say prolly around christmas time or later
hope that helps
Lovely, just in time for your Christmas morning G&T!

Hellyd,
Is your plant a shop bought one?
I'm wondering if it is poss to grow successfully from lemon pips...
Has anyone out there tried this?

I read in a gardening book today (DK the New Kitchen Garden), that lemons can take up to a year to ripen :o
yes, you can grow lemons from pips, but it takes a very long time to get fruit, (can be 5 years), and as many lemons are F1 hybrids the quality of fruit grown from pips can vary wildly. Considering the effort of 5 yrs of tlc, maybe its worth buying a plant from a nursery?
