Realised got some members on the same allotment site as myself - fairyandthetroll - so popped up this morning to say hello. What a wonderful and uplifting experience! Apart from the almost surreal feeling of actually meeting 'virtual' gardeners, it was pleasing to discover genuine and likeminded people, who dont consider the ratrace society to be the normal standard. This is particularly satisfying when so much is made of the 'dark' side of internet contacts and the associated risks.
Apart from the promised loan of an organic wine book, and some demi-johns, I came away with a restored belief in the good side of human nature, something that seems to be in such short supply.
Thank you Dan, for creating this Site !

Thanks for that Derek - it was very nice and it's made me happy and smiley again :)
Great to hear a story like that Derek :). I wonder how many other members of this forum have met up after having "met" here first.
Excellent stuff Derek! We have met quite a people from the bike forums we go on, and my darling has made some good mates through the sites. And we have met Eric and Anne, a great thing to do, to put faces to names, and to see the beautiful gardens, even though it was only a flying (or biking) visit!
See, there are some good people out there! ;D ;D ;D
Glad you had a great day Derek!
