After all the help thought I'd post a pic of my first cucumbers, french beans and onions- just three days away from home though and my courgettes are trying to take over the planet!!!

oh well done!!!
it must feel great to start taking stuff like that home!
we can't wait...
xx
Them's knobbly cumbers ;D
There are indeed wardy! I had to scrape off the spines before bringing them home - just as well for it took all of about 30 minutes for the first one to be eaten. ;D
:o Wow scrumtious :o what a crop :o Will you consume all that or freeze it?
Bit of both Roy. 2 cucumbers been eaten already, about 10 courgettes sliced and in the freezer, 6 given away to neighbours and the rest will be eaten.
I've never been so close to being a vegetarian........ :o
I didn't take the nobbles off my cumbers and once sliced and diced they weren't noticeable. I'm going veggie too as I have so many veg I eat less meat which has to be a good thing - less money :)
I've got another cucumber about 5" long and looking very good. That will be cue number two :)
WOW that sure shows good results, brilliant. Mind you I did pick my SECOND cucumber today ;D ::) Lorna
What we do for our neighbours, Icy!!
...and each other Tim. Thanks for your advice and pictures on the cucumbers.
They look like my burpless cucumbers Icy. Didn't bother taking the spines and knobbly bits off mine.

They look fantastic! Impressed with your beans, they are one of my favourite veg, and I can't wait for mine to be ready. Picked 4 little 4inch purple teepee (thanks Doris Pinks for the seeds!) yesterday and looking forward to more :)
I carried out a scientific taste test with my 8 year old daughter...
Home grown cucumbers v Supermarket cucumbers.
Home grown were white crisp and had fabulous taste, whilst supermarket
were watery and tasteless.
I now need a much larger greenhouse than my bog standard 8' x 6' to
house next years produce! ;D
Debs
My cucumbers were grown outside Debs not having any option! Wifey thinks its bad enough having the conservatory full of seedlings ;)

The variety is "Long Green Ridge". Brought another one home tonight and another 4 just about ready. Will definately be growing them again next year ;D
