Title: falling flowers
Post by: green on July 23, 2005, 10:06:04
My aubergine plant is tall & strong yet flowers keep falling off.

the stalk and flower just wither off.  i think it is a pollination problem, as i am growing it in a 30cm pot on my window sill. how do i pollinate?

can anyone offer any ideas ???

So do mine!  No sign of any aubs yet.  My lotty mate has five or six plants and no fruits on his yet either so I don't think you're at fault.  My plant looks healthy apart from the falling flowers so I'm hoping it will fruit  :)

They set more easily if there is a little moisture in the atmosphere, but failing that either the old rabbit`s foot, or a fine camel hair paint brush.

Yes, poor polination. <y outdoor ones are doing better than the indoor ones.

I simply use a finger and go from flower to flower. Huhe plants with a few fruit now.

stick with it..i started misting my chilli plant and since last week it has got 8 or 9 tiny chillies now!

previous to that, 30 or 40 flowers and their stalks had dropped off.The temperature may have been a factor too.
