Title: weird garlics

Anyone seen this before? Most of the crop was fantastic - never had better size bulbs.  But these seem to want to be double deckers! Variety Marco (hardneck), overwintered.  Been growing this variety for 3 years and never seen anything like this!

I had garlic grow like that one - no idea why. ::)

My Thermidrome did that too.  I don't think its immature flowers, inside the second bulb thingy are what look like tiny weeny cloves with green bits in.  Taste nice though ;D  I wonder what it is. ???
