I have just picked my first Heatwave chilli - looked fully developed, nice size, green in colour, shiny, very pleased.
Until.....
I thought I'd try just a tiny bit to see how hot it was, yoghurt at the ready.....
And it tasted - green. Sounds odd, I know, but there was no heat, nothing, just crunchy green-ness.
Has anyone else tried Heatwave - how hot are they supposed to be, and what have I done wrong that mine has no heat at all!!

If you took a bit off the sharp end then that is the coolest bit, the heat is realy in the seeds and the flesh directly surrouinding them--beware
Let the plants get really well baked. Stress them a little, then flood them with water, this intensifies the heat. I leave them on the plant for as long as possible also, only really picking when I need them, so they get really really ripe, and really really hot!
So are you saying, no seeds, no heat? ???
Not totally. I have been told that not only are the seeds hothothot, but the white membrane around the seeds is hotter!
Leave them on the plant longer.
I grew heatwave last year and also found that the green ones had as much heat as a capsicum. Leave them to go red, orange or yellow and the increase in heat will be very noticable.
Chillis take time to build up the ingredient that causes the heat - capsaicin I think it is called. So the chilli may be fully formed, but with no heat as you have found. Always treat chillis with caution though, and never touch your face after handling them ! ! !

Chili powder in vulnerable places is a recognised form of torture.
