Been filling butt with hose and clear water, all clean but then the other day I noticed something in the bottom. The hose disturbed it, it was like walpaper paste floting around or snow that won`t disolve???
Doubt it is sabotage but becky put some (cheap) tomato feed in the butt. Has anyone ever known it to react like that? or could it something more.....
.....sinister? very concerned that it has gone on pumpkin :-\
Do you have hard water? if so, you can get some of the minerals depositing out into a sort of soft white substance over time.
yes, think furry kettle deposits :)
where in the country are you, and do you have hard water?
Never happened before and in one day, masses of snow like stuff in butt, no change in weather, just added "cheap"tomato feed day before??? That normally goes brownish?
And yes our water is Well Hard! Wanna water fight :D
maybe some chemical in the tomato feed has caused the fall-out then :)
that's my guess anyways.
yeah, so my problem is wether to empty or use? sabotage or tom feed cheepo?
Who could analize a sample I wonder?
i wouldnt worry about using it at all, tbh.
though, what do i know? i am a reckless kinda gardener - right up there with EJ
extreme gardening - it's the new black. haven't you heard?
;)
why dont you try a sample yourself? i dont mean drinking - but trying to replicate the same thing in a 'clean' environment. this way, if the same fallout occurs, you can be sure it's not sabotage, and just a natural thing :)
thought of that! it was the last of the cheap tom feed, the old bottle is over the plot so will try to get a few drops out and into same water and see if it happens again, then I will know.
Will ask path. lab if they can check for certain things in it though.
They may help.......
One of the tom feeds I use, can't remember brand, but that turns the water milky, I would say it was that.
I would use it (I need to on my arid plains) but only wearing a safety harness and crash helmet of course.....me....extreme......what a rush man! ;D
Thanks EJ, most promising info yet, it was milky at first... will let it flow..............
Thanks ;)
Speaking of extreme gardening. I was down deep and dirty with a wasps nest in my manure yesterday :o :o :o :o Beats the hell out of extreme ironing ;D
I have been extreme digging Wardy. Well, it is bl**dy extreme the ground is so hard I am thinking of investing in a jack hammer!
Does Mr Hammer travel?
On the edges of my plot he'd lose himself in a crevasse...
