Post by: return of the mac on July 18, 2005, 19:16:35
I was wondering- is this a variety? It isnt in the T&M catalogue, or are tatties grown in jersey a particular variety that are simply called jerseys because they are from that neck of the woods ??? ???.

International kidney is the proper name. They are only called Jersey royals when grown in Jersey. Just like Champagne must come from the region of that name in France.

I am growing this variety this year, and so far have enjoyed the crop, even if low in number (half a dozen tubers per plant).

I'm growing them this year too, and I have had a good number (up to 12 per plant) of tubers, although they have been on the small side. More tubers than most of my other varieties on my heavy compacted clay :)

Mine came from Kings Seeds by the way, and I think the organic catalogue do them too Mac
