Is there a grape vine which I can grow outside - even up north? Anybody out there actually do this?
I'd like eating grapes rather than wine grapes please.
Thank you.
Pheonix white
Regent black
That's what I am planning to grow outdoors.. west yorkshire
I'm not as far north as you but I can recommend Phoenix. We get wine and plenty to eat, they're smallish but very sweet
Excellent. Thanks for the suggestions.
Can you recommend a supplier (internet/mail order)?
I'm growing Vitis brant black sweet grape but mainly for the jungley leafy look they are a nice sweet grape only I made the mistake of not pruning it back in the first year of growth and at the correct time which affects the crop apparently ::)
Shot B4 they went black.

Thanks again gentlemen.
I got mine from my local nursery.
Outdoor white - Madeleine Angevine
Mid-Early. The most widely planted variety in the UK. Flowers late avoiding frost and quickly ripens. Originates in Switzerland, hence its hardiness. Suitable for dessert.
