Title: strange pumpkin question
Post by: Nigella on July 12, 2005, 08:58:08
I thought that I had labeled up all my seedlings very well. However - one of my ''pumpkin's'' has started to grow a small round fruit (green) which looks very like my nice-de-rond courgettes.   ???

This is my first year with pumpkins - do they start off green like this? Or did I just get my labels mixed up?  ::)

Hi Nigella,

This is my first year with pumpkins as well, and mine is also growing a small green fruit.

I'm not sure when they turn orange, but hopefully someone will tell us.

Some of my pumpkins were very green last year, and as they were in the shade, we still green when I finally picked them in October, but within days of having them in my conservatory, they were bright yellow.  Some seem to start yellow, some green.
