Property developers want to buy an allotment site paying £28k ish for each plot. The association decided to sell, but a number of the plot holders actually own their own plots with deeds....
I heard about that on the news today!! Great stuff, they're not selling are they? Dedicated is an understatement!! Lottie
ooh have to say that as much as I love my lottie don't think I could turn down that sort of cash. Big moral dilemma!
I could not afford to turn down £28,000 - and I have got white rot. That would buy quite a nice corner of a field. It is a shame but maybe the money could be used to set up somewhere else.
I heard that also, and thought the majority were selling. I have to say, I would!
If I lived in my fantasy world ( chance would be a fine thing!!) would love to be the fly in the ointment!! Lottie ;D
if i owned my plot, i wouldn't sell for that. then again, depending on where this is - not inner city i suppose - so must be a good price.
i just hope that replacement allotments will be made available (though surely not as conveniently placed :()

I wouldn't sell either, then again, most of us wouldn't get the choice - how many privately owned allotments are there??!!
For most of us, the council would get the £7m and we'd get the push - and don't think we'd get offered somewhere else - that only applies to statutory sites, just 3 out of 12 in our area!!
With £28000 Lottie, you could BUY your fantasy world, I certainly would!
Sorry, I'd haggle. if they'e offering £28k, then they can afford £33k. (Then I'd sell...)
