Title: Thought it was rather colourful?
Post by: tim on July 09, 2005, 19:18:28
One of the dishes for the birthday party today. Before the basil dressing went on. Could have shared it with Emma!!

Who cares Ani!   What a waste with something as yucky as avocado!  I reckon its one of those love/hate things like marmite.

Have to say though it is very colourful even if not edible ;)

Ani - yes.

Icy -  say one more thing about Marmite & you're out of the pack!!

Tim, that looks so impressive. What's the basil dressing recipe, please? I just love avos, in SA you could buy a tray of them for next to nothing, now it's something I only allow myself if I think I deserve a treat.

Well, I think it looks absolutely glorious, and bet it tasted grand also!  A favourite combination for me, with or without a dressing, but with some lovely crusty, warm, recently baked bread.

Hope your daughter had a lovely birthday Tim, and wishing her many happy returns!

Sorry, Baggy - yes, all gone. Wasn't nearly enough, even though 8 mozzies!!

Ani - we do it 2 Extra Virgin to 1 Cider Vinegar - 2 tsp Sugar - s&p (I prefer Green to Black Pepper) - as much Basil as you can spare (eg at least half a market potful). Process.

Emma - yes - but she's the bed-maker & laundry girl - for 8 guest beds -  & Aunt to 8 children & general bossy-boots, so she was knackered by the end of it.

Bread? Ciabatta for me!

EEEk    Will shut up on marmite just so my lottie survives a full year of my abuse!

Dressing sounds really good though.  Basil is something I love.

That looks so delicious Tim, and also a treat for the eyes, as it is displayed so perfectly on that dish. Happy birthday to your daughter too on her special day, hope it was a very happy occasion.  :) busy_lizzie
