Title: Garden Update
Post by: Jane the Novice on July 09, 2005, 10:20:57
I'm not sure how many of you will remember but back in May I started to dig myself some new beds and I thought it was about time I submitted some pics. I'm not much of a gardener but really enjoy all that I do out there.I appear to have gone from a few plants in pots to creating a jungle do to too much enthusiasm and the inability to wait for plants to grow thus filling in gaps in the planting too soon.
Hence from this

Jane Now I really am a novice  :-[With results like that I think you should promote yourself immediately. Thanks for lovely pics. Like you I so enjoy my gardening only difference is that I haven't achieved results like you YET. Happy gardening Lorna.

Thankyou all for your very kind comments. The main problem I have is that the plants which were reasonably happy in their pots( or so I thought) have gone nuts since being planted in the ground. I am also in the habit of seeing a plant I like so I buy it and then have to find somewhere to put it. I will post some more pics later of my raised damp bed and my micro veg garden ( in pots ). The good news is that 3 of my 4 clems are in flower as are all my dahlias which I thought were dead! Will also put some pics of them here.

:) It looks lovely Jane. The more the merrier I always say, you can always thin & move in the autumn. I am an impulse buyer still after all these years. Just makes it more fun,  especially if you are not sure what you are buying.  ;D ;D

Well here goes...my hubby has bought a new pc so I have discovered that I just take the card out of the camera and slot it in!! There will be no stopping me now (I will probably bore you all to death but every time something new opens it feels like Christmas)

there are loads more where they came from and as you can see I don't do subtle!! The more vibrant and in your face the flowers are the more I like them.

:)WOW! Well done that looks lovely.

I'm in the impulse buying camp too. But I also suffer from impulse gifts. Currently this is in the OMG what do I do with 500 fuchsia plants. Given by my friends at a fuchsia nursery when they were clearing out their greenhouses, for my charity fundraising. We have sold 200. I am now overwintering the rest, but for the rest of the summer have decided to plant  up 250 or so in a newly created border. Will put some pics on later.

Keep gardening Jane you have got the knack. Those new pics look like Bishops Childern?
