Both Mr Aqui and I each bought 4pt of milk yesterday evening because we needed more and thought the other one wouldn't buy any!
So we now have 8pt of milk to use in a week - twice what we'd normally use.
Last night we both had a bowl of cereal for pudding (very hungry after all that travelling!) Tonight I'm going to make pasta with creamy fennel sauce (made with a bechamel sauce). I'll also throw together a quiche. But other than that I'm stumped for ideas... I'd like things to make now, but put in the freezer too. (just how many quiches can I make?!)
Problems:
we're vegetarians and don't eat sugar. (and I don't much fancy making cheese!)
Ideas please....?
Ummmmmmmm Chowder, Bread and Butter Pudding, Rice pudding, cheeese sauce, macaroni cheese?
cor it's quite hard to think of stuff that is mainly milk!
I made paneer, (Indian Cheese) the other day to go in my chard paneer, that was very easy.
The only other suggestion is to freeze the milk, I do it all the time. DP
Custard - does it freeze ???
make strawberry milkshake with your not so firm strabs. They are yummy wizzed. I aslo freeze milk when I take the cubs on camp, you could always do that.
Interested in the paneer recipe - could you post it please?
manchester tart will get rid of a pint an half for 2 tarts or wat about bechemal sauce that can be frozen you could even freeze the milk itself :D
Having darling sproggles, and a dad that was a milko, always have gallons of frozen milk in the freezer (well obviously....wouldn't be frozen if it were in the greenhouse now would it emma!) ;D
good Idea Emma - milk freezes really well. mind you, after a day of milk shakes, you could always round it off with full milk hot chocolate...mmmm!
Oh, and banana custard!
make custard, stir some chocolate, a thingy of butter and a splash of baileys or dooleys in. Chill until firm for the most fantastic dessert
