Title: Billhooks...
Post by: LynneA on July 06, 2005, 13:23:12
Anyone know where I can get one for a reasonable price?

Seen a Wilkinson Sword one for £30, but the handle didn't look up to much.

Do you have an agricultural merchant, cattle market, anything like that not too  far away? I've had some really good bargains from Birmingham market, so any large market would be worth keeping an eye on.

See the link in the post before yours. It's a general hedging and chopping tool. Originally, they used them on short handles on the farm, then in time of war they put them on long poles to make spears, known as pikes. If a mass of men stood together with those, then as long as they stood firm enemy horsemen couldn't get within chopping distance.
