I am going to the World Premeire of Wedding Crashers tonight at Odeon Leicester Square.
Escorted down the RED CARPET! Then watch the film, then got to the VIP AFTER PARTY - apparently there will be some famous people there as well.
But...This is the scary bit - whilst walking down the red carpet, I will stop to talk to the presenter - and then propose to my girlfriend! - in front of EVERYONE
did I say excited - i meant petrified!!!!!
Why????
Will she find this public sharing of your declaration of love as exciting as you?
I do hope so!!!!!!!
Let us know how it goes and have a great time!
Oh this is lovely! I shall watch for the showbiz section of news to see if you do indeed go truly public LOL!
GOOD LUCK!!!!
WestSus, what girl wouldn't want a proposal like that? :D
I guess I am just old and jaded - used to be an air hostess and I forget the number of proposals over the intercom from one passenger to another.... I couldn't think of anything less romantic!!!!!!
It depends on the characters involved - for me nothing would have been worse than a public proposal - and my other half knew that - which is why he asked me very quietly when noone else was about...
You must be so excited though - who is screening the big event?????? Its lovely to hear your excitement.
What a great thing to do - I hope your girlfriend rises to the occasion and gives you the answer you truly deserve :) Good luck Shaolin, let us know how you get on ;D
Not sure who its done by - the presenter is a woman called Olivia Lee (think she has done some channel 4 (T4) stuff.
I think this will be a big step up towards me overcoming shyness - been getting there bit by bit and am a lot more confident now than I used to be.
This is like my exam today!
Well!! What happened??? Did you? Did she?? Sounds wonderful! I'm on the edge of my seat!! Lottie :o ;D
Can I reiterate? WHAT HAPPENED!!! Saw it on GMTV this morning, but couldn't see chap on one knee, or weepy, happy woman!!! Mind you, if she's accepted (which I'm sure she has) then you probably busy........... Lottie ;D
RIght, this is how it went...
Got to the cinema and met our publicist for the night. she walked us down the carpet while everyone was on the other side of the fences. We watched some actors come down and they were doing the autograph thing.
Went in to the cinema lobby and were interviewed by a lady interviewing everyone (I think it was for MTV). I was propted and then got down on one knee (suddenly loads of cameras just flashed like mad - had to give my self tunnel vision to block it out) proposed, i didn't fall over and she said yes!
We went to to celebrity only bar in the cinema and had a drink then went back outside to do interviews for someother channels - cant remember what. Walked over to the press photographers and they did their bit.
Watched the film and were driven to the after party at the Titanic Bar. It was set out like a wedding reception - Met by a singing chior, then live band, then a DJ later. Wedding cakes and flowers everywhere.
Not stop champagne of a high quality and all free of course, plus loads of food went on til 2am when everyone went home.
Saw lots of people off the TV - actors, models. Bumped into the stars of the film while dancing (Aisla Fisher, Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson) they were all cool though and were dancing away as they wanted - there was no press there.
Think thats it - will probably remeber more as the drinks wears off and I catch up on sleep!
Can I be the first to say CONGRATULATIONS Shaolin :D :D :D  I am sooooo pleased it turned out as you expected. Sounds like you had a great night. I hope you and your future wife will have many, many happy years together. Let us know how the wedding plans go ;D
Pat
Yes, many congrats. Do you have plans for when the Big Day is likely to be? Long or short engagement? Ours was five months and two days from me going down on one knee at Lands End to my better half walking towards me down the aisle. We saw no point in hanging about.
Best of luck with it all!
Well done. Good result ;D. Didn't see it on tv though :(
Hope wedding plans go well!
That's wondeful!!! Sob, so romantic, don't remember my OH proposing to me!! Just sort of ended up at registry office!! Mmm what happened there then!! Geat news, enjoy! Lottie ;D
When you get to the big day, don't do what I did and leave the rings at home. I had them in my coat pocket so I couldn't forget them, then it was a hot day and I didn't need the coat. So Namissa was driven round the block a dozen times while someone went for them.

Great news Speedy and HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to you and OH ;D :D :) So lovely to hear some good news today in view of what has been happening recently. Well done. Keep us posted on the progress :)
Congratulations! What a way to do it!
(and on a selfish note - Owen Wilson. swoon! I'm really not sure why and traditionally I do not like blonds, but swoon!)
Yes, he is rather tasty......... Lottie ;D :-* ;)
Who?
::)
He was pretty cool - saw him going to and fro at the party.
Bit of a dodgy nose though - maybe thats part of his comic appeal though.
Everyone was really nice - Jane Seymore looked younger in person than she did in the film. And Isla Fisher is tiny!
Forgot to ask, what was the film like....??? ::) Lottie ;D
It was surprisingly funny! Rated 15 so it had adult humour and language - I thought it was going to be a family film - but then it is about crashing weddings to sleep with guests!
Some tacky humour but some good laugh out loud moments.
Deffinitly worth a watch
Sounds good! But I'm easily shocked, come from a very sheltered background..........!!!!! ;) Lottie ;D
Apparently there is an article about the film in this weeks 'Now' magazine - we have a little inset picture saying something like "one bloke took the wedding theme so seriously he proposed"
if you buy that magazine! Never seen it personally
I bet!! Will get it tomorrow and go "Awww"!!! If there any copies left......... Lottie ;D
