If you want to brighten up a border put a in drift of lychnis vesuvius, they are easy to grow from seed and are a hardy perrenial. one packet of Mr fotheringales seed gave me over 500 plants and the lot sold out in a week once they were in flower.

That's a beauty, I grow 'Molten Lava' which has the same colour foliage but the flowers are a glowing scarlet red.
Heritage do you run your own nursery? Lottie (I'm very nosey by the way!!)
Yes, but only a small one, I usually grow all the plants for our show gardens, and sell the spares. This week it was all sunset boulevard, (evening primrose) grown from seed and sold at a tidy profit. I have also just potted on 2,000 apricot digitalis which are going on to a big project we have in the winter months at a holiday park.
what lovely colour might give them a go for next years thanks for the info, i love hot colours so any more info on hots that are easy to grow from seed would be appreciated
