Title: Cucumber tendrils
Post by: Icyberjunkie on June 26, 2005, 14:47:14
Are cucumber tendrils supposed to twine round poles or dig into the soil or something?   Mine are just hanging limp doing very little and must be about 12" long!

Sounds like something that is simple but I can't find the answer.

They'll do it (cling) if they feel inclined - just as you want to change the direction it's growing in!!

PS They have to touch - even a leaf -  before they coil - unlike a bean, which searches.
