What a lovely place Lorna.  Haven't been to the IOW in ages.  Probably alot more commercialised now :-\ :)  Whereabouts are these gardens.

Hi Gardengirl. The gardens are at Ventnor. Free entry. £1 to go in Greenhouse (didn't think much to greenhouse!!) They charge for car parking I think it is £3. but as we were dropped off we didnt have any charge.  The gardens cover 22 acres and I was glad of comfortable footwear, but we took our time and strolled round so that we could really enjoy. There is also a coast walk leading from the gardens but we didn't go that way. A nice little cafe where  we sat with a cuppa and cake. Lots of seating dotted all round the gardens. Although the car park had dozens of cars plus coaches nowhere was it crowded. For such a small island (23miles x 13miles) I couldn't believe the amount of things to do there. I wanted to visit Osbourne House but didn't get time. Maybe next time. Regards Lorna.

Thanks Lorna.  Must get back there some time, used to visit alot in my younger days.  We stayed mainly in Sandown and travelled around from there.  Those were the days when we had such hot summers (now you know I am going back a few years ;)) that you could not put your bare feet on the sand.  Happy days :D :D :)
