I'm in Penwortham on the Penwortham Holme West site and enjoying every minute (well almost ::)) of my first year as an allotmenteer
This glorious weather is certainly helping with the 'feel good - let's get out to the plot' attitude  - was down there for 2 hours weeding, watering and (best of all) picking crops.....potatoes, sugar snap peas, broad beans and courgettes
How are things going with you over in Blackburn?
Plottie  :)

Ooooooh Lancashire people!! :)
I am in sunny Oldham......well it is today...and just started on my lovely plot. Cannot get over hoe friendly this site is and how much info there is!! Would be good if people said which area they are in re planting times etc, cos we are a bit behind up here in the usually frozen North!!
Glad to see you at Blackburn and Preston! ;D

I did a week's conservation work in the Forest of Bowland (fantastic area) in sight of Pendle Hill a few years ago - does that qualify me for Blackburn residency?!

I got you beat Mike........walked up Pendle Hill on halloween a few years ago.....fell down a cattle grid in the dark..ho hum!

Does this qualify me for something too..even tho I was brought up in Kent????? ;) ;) ;)

hi steves.no1
well i'm not surprised you moved from darwen. personally i think blackburn with darwen is a dump. i hate living here. its only the plot that keeps me sane. dont rub it in about plots being cheaper down there. i know £58 works out at roughly £1 a week which is not bad for the amount of land i have got but when i hear what other people are paying it seems mine is a bit much. anyway, happy plotting you southerner

hi cyrilsquirrel
welcome to the wonderful world of plotting. just be careful because i have found that it can take over your life and you go to bed thinking of nothing else. happy plotting

Cant help myself......people are mentioning Darwen.
Once saw a vox pop piece on the "after the news" programme.....old lady was asked what she thought of the new decimal coins, she said " Its all very well, but I live in Darwen, it won't affect me"
Erm.......well, I laughed!!!!!!! :) :) :)

Wardy I am sure you are right!! Just struck me as funny and would have been even if a man had said it......and in Darwen it could just have easily been a man!!!!!
