Title: Beaumont Periods
Post by: moonbells on June 24, 2005, 15:35:58
I've just been hunting out Beaumont period info, and all the time I keep finding the general definition (48h of humidity >75% and minimum temps no less than 10 deg C) but cannot find a website which just tells me if we are in one! (In which case, late blight here we come)

Anyone help out? It is said it's mentioned on the radio but after listening to several Farming Today progs I still haven't heard any news like that!

Have a look at http://www.potato.org.uk/blight

They have maps showing where outbreaks are occuring and an 'expert' gives up-to-date info every week.

fantastic! Google kept turning up a .com site which would only allow commercial growers!

Many thanks!
