Title: Jess,the reluctant dog
Post by: Margaret on June 23, 2005, 21:19:09
Reluctant to have her photograph taken,as you can see by the expression on her face!! When we first got her she would pose like a superstar. Now she puts her ears back and says "oh no not again". But at 12 years old I forgive her.

Still not quite mastered the resizing bit yet, I think
This is the photo at 300 pixels wide

Is she getting on in years?
I only usually manage to get photos of my dogs when they are asleep.

Palustris, she looks an old lady and I think that expression is saying 'come on now I just want a bit of peace and quiet'.  :)

You may have misunderstood, the dog and original photo belong to Margaret. All I did was to show her what her lovley picture would look like at a smaller size.. Sorry.

Thanks all of you.I have taken Eric's hint!! and reduced the photo. She is truly a unique dog,as is everyone's.She is sadly slowing up as the years go by,but she remains strong in character and is a natural at playing footie with my hubby.

Just an update. We had our beautiful brave Jess put to sleep this afternoon. My heart is breaking and i can hardly post through my tears but she is now out of pain and maybe one day soon we can look back and remember the happy times and the love she gave us for 13 years.

Thankyou Wilko Carol and Star for your kind words. It is too raw still, the house is so empty, and i just would give anything to hold her again for 5 minutes. :'(

Thanks Doris. She most certainly was loved. These last few years when she needed extra care and intensive feeding and medication meant i spent a lot of time talking to her, and encouraging her to eat.I expect to see her as i walk through the house, and this afternoon i put my coat on then reached for her lead..........

How the hell people can throw out an old dog because they are not active any more, and need more vet care is beyond my comprehension, and sickens me beyond words.

She was a beautiful dog when she was young, and to anyone else this last year she probably just looked scruffy and unkempt because she was thin but to me she was just as beautiful. And had the most lovely nature, never went for another dog or a person/child in her whole life.

My life is so empty right now....... :(

Margaret, i can feel your pain, i am so sorry, i have lost a few dogs in the past as we always had one, and now have two together for the first time, i said never again every time as the pain was too much, but it is too lonely without one, and there is always one needing love and a home, (we always had rescue dogs)  i am sending you a hug.  Shirley B

Margaret, sorry to hear about Jess.  I hope you feel better soon. (http://www.kenzerco.com/forums/images/smilies/hug.gif) I can imagine how awful it must feel just seeing how attached my sister is to her labrador after just two years  :'(
