I went to the Doctors today, we had a lovely chat about potatoe's, I was telling him how excited I was over pulling out a handfull of first earlies, like marbles they were, but delish. he went on to ask if I cooked the leaves ??? Uh! Uh! I was told not to eat anything green above ground as it is poisonous :o he said my wife thought that too, but it is quite safe to eat and has more flavour than Spinnach.
Anyone tried it? before I take my life in hand? sounds better than composting. 8)
Can't for the life of me remember why I went to the docs in the first place. ;D
Don't eat anything green from a potato; itis poisonous. Sweet potato leaves, on the other hand, are nice cooked like spinach.
:) Think I would go with what Robert said :) Ask the doc next time if he is trying to drum up some custom ??? ??? ;D ;D ;D
:o Thanks Guys, I did have my suspicions, tis a good job I asked here before I tried them, I think I may change my Doctor too :D ;D
;) ::) Well you never know with 'em these days ??? :o ;D ;D ;D ;D
Why not give hime some Roy and tell him to eat em first ;D
Having trawled the internet for information, there is nothing definitive about the toxicity of potato foliage for humans - strangley there's lots on what is and isn't safe for pets and livestock !?!?
