Fabulous lettuces Jerry. If I could grow lettuces as good as that I would be thrilled. Good job! :) busy_lizzie
;D Fantastic ;) I have pulled a few iceberg and enjoyed em, but my Daughters are having second thoughts because of green fly, they are full of protein aren’t they?
Hi Jerry - I've grown 4 seasons this year too - they're really pretty aren't they!
Actually lettuce is one of the few things that is super-succesful on our plots - think cos it is so dry that the slugs don't rally get much of a look in!

Our lettuce has done really well this year, and I do like the look of your four seasons Jerry. Lovely and crispy! We had lollo rosso for our supper. Can't beat that home grown crispy freshness!
Sherwood did exceptionally well for us when we grew it.
How does Baby Gem compare with Little Gem??
The 4 seasons will stay on the list for next year I expect. Very nice to eat and nice colour on the plate. The seeds came from Lidl and it was a huge packet, plenty for next year and maybe the year after.
I would say Baby and Little Gem are much the same. They have lovely crisp pale hearts, again with good flavour.

A combination of nematodes, pellets, chickens plus the allotment is not so slug active as it seems to be drier than home.

Not at all, very crisp but no bitterness. I thnk Sherwood may be a bit of a fav by the end of the year though, pulled another tonight and very good.
