Title: Shocking
Post by: rosebud on June 18, 2005, 23:22:58
I was sitting in the coffee shop of Tesco today,i was shocked at what i witnessed, a grandmother looking after the baby about 5/6months old the baby grabbed a carrier bag and began shaking ,the bit she had made a lovely noise so baby decided to play with it, the grandmother then took the shopping out and gave the baby the carrier bag to play with :o :o,while she started talking to somebody at her table, i still cannot get over it. I still feel ashamed of myself for sitting there and saying nothing. I ask you what an iresponsable?  person to be left in charge of a child.

I suppose in theory the baby could have suffocated itself, but as there were obviously people right there, that would be unlikely.

"PUT EM UP!  PUT EM UP!"
Give over Roy. It's a fair observation of the possibility's that could and do happen in this " bizzy wizzy " world.

Oh flip, and here I was, hoping to get off to bed, but hey! what self-respecting Brummie ever put a cup of Horlicks over an  'exchange of ideas'?  :o

Yep, I'm seeing that giving the kiddo a plastic bag to play with while grandma or whoever is around, is a 'safe' option, but when is kiddo going to understand that a placcy bag isn't a safe 'toy' to be played with whenever he/she wants, and that there will be no potential dangers??

So....I'm with you on this, Mary. Cheers!

Not just a suffocation danger, the wean could have chewed on it and god forbid ingested some. Cant see any sane reason for arguing, its just plain ludicrous, where was the weans rattle or teddies i ask?

Would have come out in the erm... and perhaps the letters on the bag would be still readable? My little one chewed the safeways offer leaflet - could just make out the closing date!
