Well done, I got my timing wrong on this -I've had to take the old up and there's not enough new for parsley sauce at the teddy bears picnic.

When did you sow?

Jeremy

Mmmmm, you have me worried chaps. I sowed our parsley ages ago (6 weeks, I think) and it looks as follows.
Do I need to be thinking about succession already? How long does it last?

Nooo!!

Your sowing will go through to next year. Keep it cut for regrowth.

What a great result for 6 weeks!

Tim, I'm certain that it was 6 weeks ago as my folks-in-law bought the seeds back from a Spring Bank Holiday trip to France. Started them off in the greenhouse and moved them outside a few weeks ago.

I have realised in my rush to get things planted in my 1st year, that I have not noted a single sowing date for anything  :-[

Now I have absolutely no info to relate back to for next year! Dooohhh

wow - what great parsley growth. I have been unable to grow it for a few years. First year we moved into our current garden (well - flat, but it's the garden that's the important bit!) I sowed some straight into uncultivated clay and it grew beautifully. Each year since I've tried sowing it inside and outside and nothing has germinated. Even tried pouring boiling water over it, soaking seed, and nothing happened. :'( I adore parsley.

First year ever, I have parsley ;D  Don't know what I did differently but the flat leaf and the curled are doing well :)

Anyone else heard the old saying that if parsley grows in the garden, the woman wears the trousers in the house  ;D

Lots of parsley in my garden but I don't wear the trousers !  ;D  Coriander has taken off BIG time and I eat it regularly in salads on a daily basis.  It seems that the more I cut off it, the quicker it grows back !  Lovely...

Oubykh, I would certainly sow again this year.  After all, you have until the first frosts and plenty of time!

Have lovely curly wurly and flat leaf on the plot.  Now what to do with it other than make parsley stuffing and mixed green salads!  Basil has gone mad this year also, have a row on the plot, 2 pots in the conservatory and the kids had it in their growbag gardens!  Dill and corriander, as ever, bolted immediately!  My oregano tho...mystery...it is sooooooooo spicy hot that even I can't eat it, and my thyme really has seen better days.  Note to self, do a big herb sowing session next spring.

Both types of parsley grow in my garden in the crappiest bit of sandy sub-soil I have (had drainage work done a while back and that bit was wrecked).  Never resowed it just comes back every year.   ...... Having said that it will no doubt snuff it now.
