Title: Organic Hampers
Post by: SueT on January 22, 2004, 00:25:57
Could any of you knowledgable folk out there recommend a site where I could buy a hamper of organic goodies for my son and his girlfriend?  They`ve just bought a house together and I`d like to send them a little gift.  I`d be very grateful for any advice!  :-*

They have an organic hamper.  I have never bought anyone a hamper before so I wouldn't know what was good or bad!

Hope they help.   ;D

Daughter is sampling Riverford organic veg tomorrow - maybe too late for you, but I'll let you have her comments - she's V truthful!

Sue - they could just about get up to you. Worcestershire is their limit at the moment.

Can't say that one would buy what they send, but that's the luck of the draw. And we're just entering the worst 3 months for local organics.

For what it's worth -
Frilly lettuce/cauli/2xfennel/3xparsnips/sweet potato/celery/ punnet chestnut mushrooms/ 4 oranges/5 apples/4pears/pepper/3 large toms - £12. Very good quality. Pricier 'cos of the fruit etc.
We also had 2kg Cara pots & 2kg onions - £4.20. Also good. Quite a nice box. Much not shown. = Tim

Thankyou for going to so much trouble Tim I really appreciate it, you posted photos as well, that`s very kind!  ;D  The produce certainly looks good but being me I didn`t think about the time of year, of course there wouldn`t be quite so much choice available at the moment.  What I will have to do is place an order several weeks before we next visit our son then hopefuly I can arrange delivery for the day before.  I`ve looked for suppliers around the Aberystwyth area but they`re limited.  Thanks again Tim  ;D ;)
