I bought an Acer Palmatum earlier this year.
The leaves are going brown at the ends - it is not lack of water.
Does anyone know what the problem could be, please?

Is it located in a windy site?
The leaves of Acers are very fragile (especially the 'dissected' varieties) and are prone to drying out and wind damage.
This is typical with many acers of that variety. Have had it happen and its always been wind. But as we live on a hill not much we can do :-\ Ended up planting screeners near them to act as wind breakers. Works for us.
Hmmm.
We have had a lot of wind from the west this year - and guess which side the plant is open to the elements!!!!
Thanks, folks, I shall move it to the opposite side of the patio - so it is sheltered from that wind. Then see if that cures the problem.
