Title: WOW, Focus is sooooo cheap!!!!!

Hiya,,

          I bought a banana plant from there and it was only £5.99, i was made up. It isn't a scrawny thing it is quite healthy and well watered, a new eaf is beginning to open i am made up!!!
          There is one down side though, i dont know how to look after it, i boughtit cos i really wanted aBanana Plant and i dont know what to do with it, what should i feed it on, so basically i am askin you out there if you have got one and how you look after yours and would you kindly le me in on some tips.

:) Hi Danny, you can throw anything at it (food wise) I've fed mine chicken poo, and or miracle grow, use the latter if you are keeping it indoors otherwise you will stink the house out with the pong :o

You failed to mention which species you have bought? I'm assuming it is Musa Dwarf Cavendish as that is what most large DIY stores sell, if so it will be too tender to grow outside in winter, so you will have to keep it in a pot and bring indoors well before winter approaches.

Minimum temps around 10ºC may produce Bananas if you are lucky ;)

the variety my musa is Musa Basjoo, but thanks for the info site i will lok on it later,

:o Sounds like a bargain for 6squid :o how big is it? It can stay out side over winter providing you wrap plenty of fleece round it, unfortunately you won't get any bananas off of it :'(
