Over the last week several plot holders (including me) have had unwelcome visitors during the night
I have had at least a dozen potato plants dug up and the fruit nibbled....I did think it was foxes after worms but claw marks on one of the spuds make me wonder whether a badger has taken a liking to them...My immediate neighbour has had a row of plants virtually eliminated.
Another gardener has told me that courgettes, squashes and a cucumber have vanished and she thought it might be two legged vandals until she saw what was going on at the other plots.
This has never happened in previous years but we do suspect the Council have relocated some badgers who were living on a site that was being built on...they were very cagey as to where the badgers had been rehoused.... I do wonder?

I'd willingly give up a few spuds to Badgers if I could watch them at it
Badgers move around regularly and they may well have moved away from wherever they were relocated to.
