i have 4 new fruit trees ,they are young with 1 or 2 odd fruits on them...aprox how much water should they have and how often..do i need to water them every day...thanks
Are they in pots or in the ground? I've no experience of growing them in pots, but I have several on my plot, and I never water them once they're established. Some of my trees are doing well, some aren't, and I'm not clear as to why, but I don't think water's the problem.
Same here, if the plants are in the ground, and growing well, I don't water, I let them look deep down for it themselves, however, if they are very newly planted, then I guess you do need to keep them well watered for a while. I can't be all scientific, no way near clever enough, but I would say if it is dry for a few days, give them a couple of wateringcans full, but don't over do it. More plants keel over thanks to over watering than under watering!
when my apple trees were babies, I gave them a bucket full (builder's bucket) of water once or twice a week when it's dry. Poke your finger into the soil and have a feel.
Have planted an apple tree and it came with instructions to water well once a week wether it had rained or not for the first season. Planted it earlier this years and thre are apples on it! :)
