:)I was sat admiring my new seeds that I received via swop ta EJ :) when I wondered what funny little things make others happy ? I feel happy at the thought of planting these new seeds that I have never grown before the joys of seedlings emerging soon to come and the pleasure of seeing how they turn out bliss :) :) :)
[I know they sometimes fail but thinking positive ]For me happiness is...seed sowing :)
for me it can be the way the trees rustle in the breeze.. or even a blink of an eyelid so hard to pin down... I know gardening is food for the spirit
and to sit and ignore a few weeds is happinss too... spech those ones wth orange flowers, just have to love their determination. I iz well happy now and havent been in wardrobe yet.... still tooo early.. the anticipation of spring and the budding trees moon also akes me feel happy... and totally with you on the seed thang.. so good to watch things grow... except
naughty monsters that go around eating peeps up, but thankfully these incidents are far and few between..

Flower, there are so many things that make me feel like that :) Knowing that I have finished the housework. It is also the seed thing too. Also signs of things coming up in the spring, daffodils crocus and snowdrops. That brings me total joy which can only be bettered by the sun shining. Great happiness is anticipation. Anticipation of daughter coming home in July, whooooopeee cant wait. Also of the coming year, the first on the lottie. I know that there will be down sides too but you cant appreciate the up unless you have the downs too ;)
For me it's walking during a storm, specially if it's dark! The feel of the rain and the wind feels so cleansing!

Laying in a field of new mown hay listening to a winging skylark. The ripple of a stream over the stones.Blue bell woods .Could carry on for ever it doesnt take much and its true the best things in life ARE free.
Autumn leaves, cold frosty mornings.............and snow! ;D
I love running through the park, specially when it's drizzling...lovely n refreshing, endorphins going for it, sound of trainers on the path, bumpf, bumpf, bumpf, bumpf...
Bliss...that, and waking up at 4am and making meself a cheese sarnie, eating it looking out at the quiet city landscape...
That special smell in the air that tells you it's spring and the full-throated dawn chorus of the birds in my garden. :D The scent of newly cut grass, the sight of a full-arc rainbow, frozen 'jewels' of ice hanging from the branches of bare trees, mist on spiders webs ............. so many wonderful things. ;D ;D
Going to the Allotment. The air is fresh , the birds are singing, you could almost be in the middle of the countryside instead of the Town. You survey your little Plot, thats yours and feel the satisfaction of all the work that has gone into the tidy beds. To dig up your produce, take it home, cook it and think, "I grew this"! You know it hasn't been sprayed with anything, it is full of goodness and it tastes like nothing you have ever tasted in the supermarket. It is a tremendous feeling! :D busy_lizzie
.....sunday morning when we don't have to go anywhere and Ava and I lay in bed drinking coffee listening to our 2 little cherubs playing in their rooms. I am happiest and most content when I have all three safe in my clutches and they are all happy.
However.... ;D seeing that first seedling popping through the compost gives me a real buzz - hey, this girl gets excited when she grows cress on tissue paper to have in her egg sangers! And that walk around the garden, the one you have been putting off because of the rain, that proper walk, not just a trudge down to the compost heap, that walk where you look at things, really look at things, look closely at the emerging buds that are already showing colour, look at those perennials which are pushing up through to soil when they sure looked dead back in November, look at that big fat slug which has quietly spent winter under that tray full of primula seedlings, and now he has munched the bleeding lot down to ground level :-X
I is a happy being you know!
Happiness to me is a walk in the woods in my area whicch is lovely or walking beside the river and watching birds of any kind. I just love my wild birds and I put them before a lot of things, feed them before me in the morning. I just like everything round about me, the rolling fields of grass, the sheep, cows and hills in the distance and the power of the River meandering through the countryside.
Will think of more when I have a sleep. Happiness is also a good nights sleep.
walking up early and realising its the weekend and I don't have to work
finding a pair of matching socks
my 3 yr old boy coming in my bed for a snuggle first thing in the morning
my 18 yr old daughter coming home at the end of term from Univ (for the 1st 5 minutes anyway!)
finding the first seeds germinating in a seed tray
my flask of coffee on the lottie
eating the first produce of the year
sleeping
Loads of things... watching the first spring bulbs pop up and bloom. Seeing the first blossom on the trees. Finding that plant you've been after for ages and it's a real bargain! seeing seedlings pop up and then planting them on and watching them develop (they are my babies!) And then eating them (baby metaphor gets thrown out here!) like Lizzie, knowing that you've grown it. Standing in the rain in the summer when it's been dry and hot for ages and then watching all the slightly wilted plants stand up again (while knowing you don't have to bother watering that evening!) Listening to the rain lash against the windows when you don't have to go outside. Watching the horse I ride slowing, contemplatively chewing his hay. Finding a frog in the garden. Watching and listening to the birds having their morning bath.
ahhhh bliss. (I think I'd better stop there!)
After days and maybe weeks of horrible hot, and strong sunshine, causing everything to dry out and giving me migraines, what is better than a nice dull drizzle where I can have a good old dip in my ponds and see the fish swimming around happily with the rain on their backs( and mine)!!
However right now happiness would be hubby getting offered a job and making him feel worth something again.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh !!!!!!!
I was becoming all misty eyed after reading about hapiness...
here's mine....
me and the dog on the beach at 6.30am in the morning
for the pre-work walk, the sea, the birds and the peace and tranquility of the day
ditto re the growing seeds thing !! I hate to buy bedding plants as I get so much pleasure from growing things from little seeds
waiting to taste whatever it is I will grow in the lottie - as I'm a lottie newby AND I'M SO EXCITED !!!!!!!
watching birds and wildlife in the garden - downside to this is I witnessed a sparrowhawk catch a blackbird after it had just pulled out a worm from the grass...
motherly love happiness ...

My 4 year old son full of rage, fists clenched, eyes glinting with rage calling me ....STINKY !!

Daffodils ! After a long cold winter seeing daffodils makes me think of things to come.
But in light of the forecast next week, I love a walk on a winters day snow / frost on the ground white over sunshine, pausing to watch a robin on a branch its peacefull and quiet.
