Title: Wheeled push hoe?
Post by: cheddarpaul on June 10, 2005, 13:56:17
Does anyone know where I would get a wheeled push hoe? Seen one of these in use recently and sooooooooo want one.

Also, where is a good (cheap) place to get fleece from?

muchos gracias all and thanks for the advice

Fleece was really cheap at Focus do it all, think I paid 17p per meter!

Have you tried ebay? I got some from there fairly cheaply recently.

Fleece - NA Kay is always worth looking at.

Hoes - this is strange - recently looked at several on the net but now can't find them!! Mostly continental - or, the one I ordered, American.

Later - silly me - I was Googling 'wheeled hoe' instead of 'wheel hoe'. HO, HO!

It looks OK if you're going to plant in rows, but I don't think it would fit my bed cultivation too well.

I have got a planet hoe (jigger) which is pushed between the rows to hoe weeds.

Also have a planet seed drill, they have been in the family for about 4 generations now,  I will try to remember to take some photos of them tomorrow and post them on the boards for you to see.

Thanks for the responses...

Wheeled hoes (or wheelhoes) seem to be quite an expensive piece of kit. I have found instructions on how to make my own...

I already have a donor bike - just need some wood, a blade and some decent nuts n bolts!

If I get one up and running I will try to get a piccie up.
