Post by: jinita77 on June 09, 2005, 12:15:16
???...........i bought a fan trained stella cherry tree from the garden centre..it has quite a lot of green cherries on....i planted it in garden against fence about 3 weeks ago...it started  started wilting not long after planting and the edges of some of the leaves turned brown ,,and now some of the leaves are turning half yellow and falling off with the cherries....i am completly new to gardening...i think i have watered it once since i have had it about 3 weeks ago....is it dying because i am not watering enough?..what should i do?  how often should i water and how many litres at a time?....thanks in advance for any replys..

Oh No !!

No water ? no wonder the poor thing is dying in front of  your eyes. It needed a large bucketful of water every day after you planted it. Try watering now - you might save it.

Check the leaves carefully, espexially at the end of the twigs. My cherry tree leaves have masses of blackfly gobbling up the juices. Can't spray cos of visiting goodies. Just about all my mini cherries have dropped off!
