According to our local newspaper there was a slight frost in Shawbury last night and a record low temeperature is forecast for tonight in North Shropshire. Check your local weather forecast or you may well be caught out.
Wouldn't it??
Our local (Metcheck) is off the air!!
From what I can see round the garden this AM the frost did not materialise here. The temperature did drop very sharply though. My Min/Max thermometer is bust so no idea what it went to.
dropped to 2 degrees in west sussex
Frost visible on the lawn early this a.m.(Shrops/Staffs border), but absolutely nothing damaged

They're back now but have done a BBC! No frost forecast or dew forecast on the gardening page and it's now only out to 2 days rather than 5.
I have filled out a bug report since as far as I'm concerned it is one! I guess the more folk who complain, the better, so go for it...

even my sheltered little garden in greater London went down to 3 deg on Monday night. brrr. Everything seems alright, though.
Maybe they think there wouldn't be frost in summer?

I filled out a report on it too. 5 days was much better.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the BBC weather forcast at lunchtime warned frost again for tonight - in the Wash area I think?
It's the coldest spring/early summer on record here in Bergen, Norway.. since they started keeping records some 90 years ago =/
My tomatoes in the ground are just sitting there sulking whilst their coddled siblings are producing inside the greenhouse (ferline, arctic splendor, sweet 100s, redcurrant (from seed savers). My cucumbers in the ground have gone roots up (ha ha ha, what was I thinking)?
Every single night the heaters have been on most of the night... I absolutely dread to see the power bills =/
Normally our highs/lows are in the mid to high 20s daytime highs and around 10-12 night time lows... but lately it's been dipping down to 5 regularly... no frost (yet).. but rain every single day and no sunshine.
I never did get our winter pullies put away, and at this point, I'm not quite sure it'll even be necessary =/
Annie in Norway
my allotment was fine in newcastle but i got frosted in my tent in the new forest :o
My outdoor toms, climbing French beans and pumpkins were frosted during the week while I was in London for an examiners' meeting. Nothing's been killed as far as I can see at the moment, but some of the toms are badly set back.
