Great pics Glyn :)
I want to come to your place to ride my bike :)
Looks stunning.
:) Is it a whitetail doe ???
Green with envy but glad you've brought back great memories.
Back in 2000 we hiked from Banff to Jasper in Alberta. Three weeks out in the backcountry with just our rucksacks and tent......and mountain goats, elk, caribou, ground squirrels, skunk and various other wildlife.
Besides pine trees and pine trees and pine trees, we also walked across Pulsatilla Pass, named because the whole floor is just one mass of pulsatilla - absolutely stunning.
We are walking the Tour de Mont Blanc this year and are looking forward to all of the flora and fauna that Alpine meadows can offer in July (but really dreading what the lack of rain will do to our lottie, even though our kids have promised to look after it!)

Yes. There are an abundance this year because of the cut back on deer hunting. So now we have wolves and bear heading this way, plenty of food, not too mention us. A woman out west of Calgary was eaten by a Grizzly this week..poor women.

Have a great time, and don't forget the camera?

If you really like bike riding, then you'd love it here. The "Trans trail" goes for miles and miles around this area, and indeed across Canada. The bike trails are the old railway lines, not in use of course. They are paved with asphalt or fine gravel, and are well maintained..bikers paradise. Wanted to go biking today, but we've been sitting with a heat wave, (35 cel the last three day's) so you've got to be careful doing too much without shade.
