Another mystery plant I have grown from seed. Have a huge clump in the front garden, and this one in the shade by our pond.
p.s. sorry about my filthy hands. Blame the garden!
hmm...looks like a variety of jacobs ladder to me-polemonium...... ???
Could well be, but I had something I thought was jacobs ladder, simlar leaves but totally different flowers and pure white.....I must label...I must label....I must label!
Polemonium pauciflorum.
yep E.J. - i have the same problem with failure to label. I have had several nasty shocks such as growing Nicandra in a hanging basket - a huge bushy type thing with fabulous flowers but completely the wrong place to plant it.....and this is only one of many, many labelling-related mishaps. Still, E.J. it is a lovely plant - I have found myself carefully nurturing weeds before now.
It's a really pretty little thing isn't it? EJ, is it scented?
No Amazin, it isn't. Shame really, but it is cute, and spills out over the edge of our pond which is perfect!
I too have nurtured weeds Campanula, thistles and dandilions in the past. Shame I know, but then weeds are only plants in the wrong place. ;D ;D
I nurture weeds annually; right now I've got a nice clump of mullein, which I replanted when it was sprouting in the wrong place last year. It's currently being eaten alive by mullein moth caterpillars but they're too nice to kill. I get them every year; they don't touch the plants in the first year when they're small and vulnerable, then swarm all over them in the second.
Couldn't agree more that weeds are only plants in the wrong place. If this one's happy by a pond I must check it out - I need something to contrast with the lavender.
