I put this in "The Allotment Movement", but it doesn't appear that forum is very heavily used - so I'll put it in here as well!
As far as I can see, there are two National Associations for allotments:
The National Society for Allotments and Leisure Gardeners (NSALG) ; and
The Allotments and Gardeners Council (UK)
Our fledging association is looking to affiliate to one or the other - does anyone have any views as to which is better? Does anyone have any personal experience in obtaining help and advice from one or the other? Are there tangible benefits in affiliating?
I really can't answer with any authority.. but I do notice that NSALG have a half price seed and potato scheme with their affiliates... I don't know if Allotment and Gardeners council do or not... but something to take into consideration...
I'm interested in the answer to your query as well! =)

Think the NSALG uses Kings. Not sure about the Allotments and Gardeners Council, but I think our site is affiliated with that - they have a seed discount as well methinks with Marshalls? - nope I am wrong about Marshalls, but "The full range of Johnsons, Mr.Fothergil's and Dobies Seeds are available at an incredible discount on retail price regardless of order value (no minimum order to qualify)" Managed to find a website: http://www.theallotmentsandgardenscounciluk.org.uk/welcome.htm though the site seems to be quite new and not finished....
