Thanks, y'awl - this thread has reminded me that I need to get the rest of my toms potted up this weekend.
I grow them all in large planters and troughs (and this year, hanging baskets) on the patio, where I can keep an eye on them & pick them as and when necessary. J-I-T gardening/cooking!
Got two "Big Boy" plants in their final planters already -they were given to me by my dad, and typically are about a month more advanced than mine (he has a heated greenhouse).
Three "Lemon Tree" plants - from old seed found in the shed when I took over the lottie.
Four "Crystal"
and about 10 "Tumbling Tom", which are going into the baskets. (Thanks, Moonbells, I was wondering if I could get away with three in a basket).
Should keep us in toms for the summer... (we like tomatoes)
