Cat vs Starling
«

My recent rescue puss has just been out and brought me back a starling. I managed to get it off him and put it in a hedge. Just checked and the bird has gone. Does that mean the bird is a gonner or has it had a miraculous escape?
I know this is what cats do but he took it into the bedroom and tried to hide it in the divan of the bed. :'(

Hi Baggy,
Depends on how animated the starling was when you rescued it and put it back into the bush. If it disappeared in a pretty quick time, I should imagine all is well, so put your mind at rest :)

I agree, if you went back and he was gone then he's OK. The same thing with blackbirds I find. Just get your cat in and leave them in peace for a bit and they will fly off and be thankful for their lucky escape.
