I bought 100 Senshyu Yellow from Wyevale for £3.99 using my Garden Centre Club vouchers.  Planted some two or three weeks ago (in sunny Essex) and water them every few days as it is so parched around here.  Just been out and some green shoots already!  Is this a good or a bad thing, so soon?

Very excited now as I haven't grown any edibles for some time and still undecided whether to make a big effort next year.  I have some garlic to go in this year too.

Pigeonseed.   I planted seeds in July and they are only like small leeks.   No where near the size of sets like Teegee.   We will have to see how they go.  Are you transplanting them?   If so when?

I grew them in trays, and have just planted out the few that weren't eaten! I didn't get round to transplanting to a temporary home, so maybe if I had, or had given them more soil to start with, they'd be a bit fatter.

Someone suggested a very interesting method - involving four seeds to a module, and letting them grow together. They do well apparently. Sorry I can't for the life of me rememer whose brilliant advice that was! I can barely remember my own name...
