Meeting allotment 4 all people
« on: September 12, 2009, 18:43:30 »
Is it easy talking, typing on here, but when you meet the person in person, what did you think? I think we all have an idea of the person from their posts, but were they what you were expecting.  Answers please.  The only person I met was exactly as I expected.

I`ve met some from here-and others from other sites.

We are the same in person-Just folk who share this gardening game.

I have had the pleasure of meeting 6 A4A members, all turned out to be what I expected. We have had some good laughs. I have met up again with a couple of those members on a few occasions.
This year has been worrying for me due to ill health of one of my daughters. I have found it comforting now and again to talk "outside" the family, two of my A4A friends (you know who you are) have been such great listeners.

What I meant was that I always imagined Saddad as very, very old, walking on a walking frame (sorry), and thought that (must be getting old) forgotten his name, the very handsome pilot, looked good and some other names that I thought were men, turned out to be ladies.  Thought ACE was a clown, only due to his picture, whatever.  ;D ;D ;D

I have met at least 8 from here and they have all been nice people.
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

All people are lovely on here, and the people on my allotment are the kindest, most generous people I have ever met and they don't get bored with talking about vegetables, but we do have lovely conversations about other things and yesterday I came back with a book that was recommended to me, and also loads and loads of toms.

The people I've met have all been exactly how I pictured them.....apart from Saddad.  I was expecting a miserable old bloke with no sense of humour.
Just goes to show that you can't judge someone by their name.

All the a4a folks I've met have been lovely. Quite a few of them no longer posting but I suppose that's the nature of the beast. It's nice to meet up with folk you feel you know quite well even though you've actually never met before to discover that they're even better than they seemed online.

But he is in the top ten A4a pisstakers.

I met one member of this club in a manure heap and he was a bit perturbed because I recognised him from the mental profile I had built up from his posts.

Who did you meet then Borlotti, he sounds like a great bloke, salt of the earth, did he have film star looks.     ;)
I will be meeting up with Tonybloke at the end of the month, I don't care if he has two heads, just as long as he gets the beers in.   :P     ;D ;D ;D
MAY THE CORN BE WITH YOU.

I was a bit shocked when I met Lorna. I hadn't had her down as a punk rocker at all!  ;)  ;D

And when I met Kev he was wearing an Arsenal shirt (but who can blame him after Spurs' result yesterday?)  :o  ;D
