Hello everyone .
Just been to my allotment open day ,and it did ,the Heavens opened all afternoon, spent most of the afternoon in the maquee.
Must be a glutton for punishment going back at 6-30,  for a BBQ.
Very pleased though, I won the scarecrow comp, and highly commended for my produce box, so all was not lost.
   June.

If it were closer I would have come.........I own a large garden.... but yesterday I went to a lottie open
day 2 towns away..... and it was b loody fantastic.........first to arrive and was the last to leave it only has 46 plots 22 full the rest half plots....the banter from the off was fantastic the knowledge well folks ranged from 21 up to the old dear of 92 (had to keep hiding behind the bean rigs she was taking quite
a shine to me  :o :o) but heres the hard part.......only 1 plot has been vacated in the last year the average is 2 a year and they have a 10 yes ten year waiting list..........the home baking was out of this
world .....dug me own spuds up from 1 plot........walked 2 plots up dug me own assorted veg.....each
plot holder wanting me to take more I may add..........payment for it was miniscule so gave a tenner
donation to the funds..and threw another at the raffle............not only were the folks a fountain of knowledge but the plots themselves with a lot of ingenious ideas made from everyday objects have sent me brain (I still have one nearing 50) into overdrive ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

 BOTTOM LINE.............................................
IF YOUR CLOSE ENOUGH GET YOUR BUTT ALONG TO SADDADS ONE PRONTO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am number 15 on the waiting list for allotments which are 12 miles away from me, so probably about a 7 year wait.  AM having to make do with my raised boxes in the garden for now.  Am campaigning the council for more allotments nearer to home and they emailed me today to say they wanted to discuss with me on the phone.  HOpefully that sounds promising!!!
